The Township Board is accepting letters of interest from applicants for a partial term (approx. two years remaining) on the Planning Commission. (Applicants must be registered to vote in either Bergland Township or another Michigan jurisdiction).
The Planning Commission is responsible for:
- Developing and monitoring implementation of the township master plan
- Developing and monitoring administration of the township zoning ordinance, and performing certain actions as indicated in the ordinance
- Developing a draft capital improvement plan to be transmitted to the Township Board
In addition, the Planning Commission may perform certain other functions that are requested or agreed to by the Township Board. In recent years, the Planning Commission has been involved in improvements and operational support for the Bergland Township Park.
In a letter of interest, please include an explanation of your background, why you are interested in the position, and an overview of any relevant qualifications.
LETTERS OF INTEREST ARE DUE ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2025 and shall be submitted in one of the following ways:

Letters will be considered at the regular Township Board meeting on September 18. Applicants are recommended to attend.
